Announcements...

  • Places still available for the KLICE Law and Ethics summer school on 24-25 September, offered in partnership with Lawyers' Christian Fellowship.
  • The innovative film 'Doing Virtuous Business' will be presented by Theodore Roosevelt Malloch, director of the Spiritual Capital Initiative at Yale University, on 21 September, 5.00 - 7.00pm, with contributions from business leaders and academics. The event is co-sponsored by Transforming Business and KLICE. Full details here.
  • Associate Director Joshua Hordern will represent KLICE at 'Integrated: The Bible in Professional Life', All Souls Langham Place, London, 1 October.
  • 'Big Society - Bigger Nature?' - a conference on civil society at the University of Manchester, October 1. KLICE is one of the co-sponsors, and KLICE Director Jonathan Chaplin will speak.
  • Jonathan Chaplin will participate in a public debate, 'Is There a Future for Multiculturalism', organised by the public theology think-tank Theos at London School of Economics on October 20th. The event marks the publication of his forthcoming Theos report, Multiculturalism: A Christian Retrieval. This free event runs from 6.30-8.30pm and is held at Old Theatre, Old Buidling, LSE.

News...

  • 18 medical practitioners and health care workers attended a two-day summer school offered by the KLICE Public Leadership programme in partnership with the Christian Medical Fellowship (CMF).
  • Associate Director Joshua Hordern and Advisory Council member Brian Brock gave papers at the annual meeting of SSCE in Cambridge, 2-4 September.
  • Joshua Hordern represented the UCCF Research Division, of which KLICE is part, at 'Forum', a training conference for student Christian Union leaders, held in Shropshire from 5-9 September.
  • Jonathan Chaplin presented a paper on Christian social thought at a seminar linked to the conference 'The Future of Creation Order', organised by the Dutch 'Association of Reformational Philosophy', 15-19 August, Amsterdam. He also served on the programme committee of the conference.
